In light of the world we are living in today and the stance the country I live in has taken. I must say I am completely appalled and disappointed.

As a Christian woman,

I will not, I cannot, watch people in need beg for help. Cry for help. Children with blood splattered along their faces. Mothers holding the bodies of their children. Husbands crying over the loss of their wife. Families being torn apart.

What if it was you? It could just as easily be you.

I think of me and Eli and not too long ago we would never be allowed to love one another openly (let alone be engaged) due to hate filled rules set in place by elected officials of “we the people”. A hate-filled stance driven by nothing other than the color of one’s skin. Driven out of hatred and fear.

Well, that’s what our country is doing now.

I cannot stand with Trump and leaders who think discrimination and racism is ok. It goes against everything I believe.

This is not what Jesus would do. This is not what God wants.

8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.- Matthew 10:8

13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.-Romans 12:13

19 We love because he first loved us. 20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.-1 John 4:19-20

Over the past couple weeks, I cannot say I am proud to be an American. I hope one day I can say that again, but for today, I cannot.

I cannot be responsible for these people’s demise. I will not stand with my leaders and I will be open about how I feel. I will be open about the truth. And as much as they are hard for me to look at without immense sadness overcoming me, I will share pictures of these dying people. Dying children. Dying babies. Your comfort is not important to me because these people don’t get that luxury.

Lastly. I will pray. I believe full heartedly that prayer has power. God has power. Prayer has helped me personally and it can help this world if you truly believe in the words you pray.

I will pray.
